MEDRAD has a long history of supporting the medical community through educational programs and support. Requests for financial support are detailed below, however, please read through some of the requirements and prohibitions listed below before making your request.

ACCEPTABLE MEDICAL EDUCATIONAL GRANTS
MEDRAD may provide funding for medical educational activities associated with educational conferences, continuing education (CE), continuing medical education (CME) programs or professional meetings if –

• The grant is provided to foster an increased understanding of scientific, clinical or healthcare issues that contribute to the improvement of patient care.
• It will be used solely for legitimate expenses related to education and training of healthcare professionals or patients in connection with the improvement of patient care. The recipient organization may use the funds for overall program expenses, or specifically for speaker(s), meal(s), reception, etc. (Grant funds cannot be used to offset expenses not directly related to the educational program (e.g., janitorial expenses), nor can they be used for expenses of attendees.)
• It is awarded to an organization such as a hospital, medical professional society, conference sponsor or continuing medical education provider.
• It is not awarded to an individual or private physician practice group.
• The organization, not MEDRAD, controls the disbursement of the funds.
• The responsibility for, and control over, the selection of content, faculty, educational methods, attendees, materials and venue belongs to the organizers of the conference in accordance with their guidelines.
• The grant is provided in response to a request that:
• Describes the purpose/intended use of the grant or references other documents attached, such as a brochure, pamphlet, flier, agenda, memo that describes the purpose/intended use of the grant. It is not acceptable to list only a generic description (e.g., “educational grant”) as the purpose of the expense;
• Confirms the grant will be used for educational purposes;
• Confirms the grant will not be used for general overhead or for expenses of attendees;
• Acknowledges that MEDRAD may audit or review the use of the grant;
• Provides a detailed budget describing planned use of the requested grant; and
• Confirms that MEDRAD’s funding and relationship with program provider, presenters or moderator will be disclosed to attendees.

ACCREDITED CME PROGRAMS
Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs are peer-to-peer educational activities sponsored by independent, third-party organizations accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). The purpose of the CME is to enhance the healthcare professional’s ability to care for patients and such programs must be independent, objective, balanced and reflect scientific rigor in content development. Examples of programs that can be accredited for CME include:

• Medical society meetings
• Medical school symposia
• Speaker program sponsored by an institution or other appropriate third-party intermediary
• Audio conferences
• Webcasts and CD-ROMs with a CME program on them

Other prohibitions or requirements may apply.

How to Request an Educational Grant from MEDRAD

2. Fill out the form
3. Attach it to an email and send the email to EducationalGrant@medrad.com
   Your request will be reviewed by a Board. MEDRAD will communicate the results of the review to you within 4-6 weeks of your initial request.
