Joseph Havrilla serves dual roles as MEDRAD’s Chief Technology & Strategy Officer and Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Innovations. He is responsible for corporate research, innovation, business development, strategic planning and Intellectual Property.
In 2009, Joe’s standing role as Chief Technology Officer expanded to include Chief Strategy Officer. He has served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Innovations since 2003.
Joe’s product development leadership has helped the company launch numerous pioneering new products leading to a sustained 15 percent annual growth rate. He personally holds over 20 United States and foreign patents. Joe joined MEDRAD as a research engineer in 1983. Promoted through MEDRAD’s new product development organization, his team brought some of MEDRAD’s most innovative products to market, including MCT/MCT+, the Front Load Syringe, Mark V, Envision®, Stellant®, prefilled cartridges, Spectris® and Spectris Solaris®, ProVis® and the 9500 monitor line.
Before joining MEDRAD, Joe held technical and engineering management positions at Xerox, Inc., Rockwell International, Inc. and Recognition Equipment Corporation. He received an MBA in 1982 from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Joe serves on four different boards at Point Park University including the executive board, the board of trustees, the facilities committee and the strategic planning board. He also serves on the advisory board of Carnegie Mellon University's School of Computer Science. He is a frequent lecturer at seminars and symposiums and is active in his local community.
