Are you trying to increase effiency in your MR suite? It is a common request in MRI these days. A couple ways of achieving it are to reduce scan interruptions and turnaround patients more quickly. By focusing on these areas, you might be able to scan extra patients a day, at least some MR sites are reporting that result.
According to early reports from clinicians using the Continuum MR Infusion System with the new Wireless Remote Display, the system is proving to increase efficiency and throughput. This efficiency is increasing the number of patients that MR sites can scan.
One pediatric imaging site, in particular, has been steadily whittling down a four month backlog since beginning to use the Wireless Continuum system by working more efficiently. The anesthesiologist there is reporting an increase in their patient schedule of at least one patient per day.
The Wireless Continuum System allows physicians to control a patient's medication infusion during an MR procedure from both inside and outside the scan room. Changes in flow rate or bolus or to stop and start an infusion are made seamlessly without the need to interrupt the scan.
Another anesthesiologist reports efficiency gain by having the ability to step down an infusion dose near the end of a scan. Doing so reduces the patient's recovery time, saves time in patient turnaround, and reduces demand on staff.
Can you think of other ways to increase patient log? Focusing on smooth patient scans and faster patient flow might be an easy way to not just try to increase efficiency but to actually achieve it.
